Team Up for Nonprofits presents Gigs4Good #8 featuring Handful of Luvin’, Jubilee & The Local Strangers benefiting PAWS
Over 200 supporters enjoyed some electrifying tunes at the Tractor Tavern while supporting one of Seattle’s favorite nonprofits, PAWS. The Local Strangers and Jubilee started the show with their vibrant voices and Handful of Luvin brought down the house with their wild fiddles and jams. Dancing was not an option, it was mandatory for this show! This Gigs4Good concert raised funds for PAWS so they can shelter, feed, comfort & rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife.
PAWS is a champion for animals – rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, sheltering and adopting homeless cats and dogs, and educating people to make a better world for animals and people. They’re located in Lynnwood, just north of Seattle. Funds received from Team Up’s Gigs4Good benefit will help PAWS shelter, feed, comfort & rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. Caring for the variety of animals—from Harbor Seals to Black Bears—is an enormous financial responsibility and community support makes a huge impact for the animals in their care. The following figures are a few examples of what it takes to provide for their wild patients with the best of care:
- $160 provides rehabilitative care for a Harbor Seal for one week
- $70 feeds an orphaned Black Bear cub for one week
- $21 feeds a Peregrine Falcon for one week

Handful of Luvin’ is a rock quartet featuring a rocking classically trained violinist, Handful refers to their music as “fiddle driven roots rock,” and their cheerful blend of folk-rock, reggae and world rhythms, plus secondhand baroque and Celtic influences with catchy pop hooks, strongly recalls the vintage sound of Actual Tigers, the madness of Flogging Molly, and the moodier, more experimental side of Wilco. Having opened for Phish at the Gorge, played Bumbershoot and been named in the top 5 best local bands multiple times these guys know how to deliver a hell of a good show.
Beneath the cloud-blanket gray skies of Seattle, nonprofit band Jubilee are planting seeds of light with sound and heart. From roots in Hawaii to a long-distance love affair with Brazil, perhaps it is the reminiscent influence of more tropical climates on song-writer Curtis Romjue that lends their music its inviting warmth. Their very name inspired by a sailboat’s moniker, every song pulses an unmistakable oceanic rhythm. Slipping happily through, between and around genres, some might say their sound is best personified by a bearded man sitting by the ocean eating a healthy sandwich.
The Local Strangers features Midwestern transplants Aubrey Zoli (PAWS volunteer) and Matt Hart. With soulful vocals and intricate harmonies, their poignant, honest, and relatable songwriting has quickly distinguished them in the Americana/alt-country scene. They thrive on stage in an energetic display of passion for their music and create an unmistakable connection with every audience. Having developed The Local Strangers full-band sound while recording their self-titled EP released in June, they have just returned from their first west coast tour, making stops in cities such as Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
